Sue Capell holds Master’s degrees in Education and School Psychology, as well as a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership. Her 30 year career in human services includes experience working with diverse populations, involving individuals with disabilities. In partnership with 2 other administrators, she was awarded a $700,000 grant to implement a transition program that included workforce readiness. Sue has been responsible for hiring of special education staff and providing training for adults. As a Director of Special Education for several school systems, she conducted presentations on Professional Development to in-service staff and service providers. Sue has a proven ability to lead/develop/articulate a shared vision, set goals to reach them and celebrate the steps toward success.

Bart Blum holds a Master of Science in Human Services Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a Professional of Human Resources (PHR) with extensive background in recruiting, staffing, and leadership development. Bart’s well-rounded experience spans both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. He has served as a branch manager for Manpower Staffing and is currently Executive Director of Action For Mental Health. His insight into the changing landscape of the non-profit organization in Western New York along with his many years of leading, training and developing staff from all business sectors have been particularly invaluable to Innovative Placements. Bart states, “My goal is to bring my history of operational success to the non-profit sector. I've learned that people are more alike than we think, and that everyone has motivators. It's my job to identify them and apply them realistically. I've feel I’m part of a good cause and I want to make a difference.”

Nicki Land is proud to be a member of the Innovative Placements team. She uses her attention to detail for each client’s personal and educational experiences as a marketing tool with their resume to help them find meaningful employment and help clients along their career paths. Nicki has been with Innovative Placements since 2009 and utilizes her skills developed from her own experiences in retail administration, customer service, and the professional office environment. She believes everyone has a something to offer and room for growth. Her hope is to find that those who gain employment through Innovative Placements find a job along their career path that is rewarding in allowing their personal strengths while challenging at the same time

Amy Rokitka is currently employed with Roswell Park Cancer Institute and is a graduate of Buffalo State College with a Bachelor of Science in Health & Wellness. After graduation she worked with the Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo and WNY Inc. Here is where she focused on initiatives with citizens, local business, not-for-profits and the public sector to work together to successfully improve the quality of life for all in WNY. Amy is the Resume Writer for Innovative Placements. She offers development of resumes, cover letters and references by contacting interested clients and working with them to obtain their educational background, work history, training experiences, abilities and interests.

David Whalen founded Disability Awareness Training (DAT) in September 2004. He specializes in training law enforcement, emergency responders, human service providers, public, private, and school transportation, corporations and businesses, places of worship, and educators. In January 2010, the New York State Board of Regents appointed him to a three year term on the New York State Independent Living Council. David was also awarded a grant through AT&T to develop Call center training for the State of California Public Utility Commission.
